Carotid endarterectomy
      Carotid endarterectomy is a surgical procedure that open or clean the carotid artery with the goal of preventing a transient ischemic attack (TIA), or stroke. Though it is a durable procedure, it is not considered a cure and, while rare, blockage can accumulate again.
